RYA Training Courses

With the expansion in the RYA training courses now available to members, May sees some availability in the following:
RYA Dinghy Level 1,Start Sailing: Evening PAYG sessions. These sessions run from 5.45pm until 8pm and cost £17 per session, allowing you to work gradually towards the qualification. Approximately 10 sessions would be required to pass. Some sessions are busier than others, but check out the dates on the calendar and book in.
Sunday 19th & 26th May - RYA Dinghy Seamanship Skills: This course is all about how to handle a boat in all circumstances, solving problems afloat and coping with adverse conditions. You will learn further sailing terminology, more indepth meteorology and tidal elements. A great course to further the sailing knowledge. £170 for the 2 day course, 9am - 5pm.
Tuesday 21st & Wednesday 22nd May - RYA First Aid: The First Aid course is a mix of theory and practical, which will cover a range of first aid topics tailored to boating, such as recovery position & CPR; drowning; cold shock/hypothermia; seasickness/dehydration; medical assistance/advice by VHF; helicopter rescue. Running from 5.30pm until 9.30pm each day.
Thursday 23rd May - Safety Boat Training: Boat Handling Refresher: In this FREE Safety Boat skills session, we will be working on core boat handling skills by practising coming alongside, picking up moorings and man overboard.if you are looking to attend an RYA Safety Boat course. This will help to prepare you for future sessions that introduce new skills, such as towing, mark laying or capsize recovery. We'd suggest attending at least two of these boat handling refreshers if you are looking to attend an RYA Safety Boat course - next RYA Safety Boat course is 15th & 16th June.
Saturday 25th May - RYA First Aid: There is currently only one space available on this one day First Aid course should the evening option not be convenient.
