Hornet Cruise - 24th-25th September 2022

Saturday 24th September saw eleven boats and quiz sailing from different locations to Hornet Marine in Gosport. Unfortunately, we had five boats that for one reason or another had to cancel. The wind on the Saturday started slight and then built to a cool northerly 14 knots maximum. When arriving in Hornet the sun shone, and the wind decreased and left us with a beautiful evening.

We all gathered (37) at 6:45 for a pre-dinner drink, which was a very happy event and then continued into the dining room for dinner. The two long tables had very thoughtfully been decorated in our colours of yellow and blue. The meal was extremely good, and our thanks was passed onto the team who looked after us so well.

A quiz was produced and the usual Nick and Alison legacy seemed to go down a treat. After a lot of chatter the joint winners were those on Scribble and Lady J. The very enjoyable evening came to a close at 1100hours.

On the Sunday morning we woke to blue skies and in the marina about 6knots of wind. However once out of the harbour the wind was northerly about 12, gusting 20 knots which gave us a brilliant sail home. The weekend was great fun and thanks to all for coming and getting involved.
