GSG Sail - Saturday 6th August 2022
After frustrating days of too much and then not enough wind we were gifted 8-10 knots of SW heaven and some beautiful hot sunshine to make sailing conditions ideal. We set off from Keyhaven almost on time with 7 scows and Simon's Pram. Jo Edwards was our lead scow using her experience to get us through Stivers.
This time we made the passage in a very orderly single file, unlike previous attempts! Well done, all our boat handling must be improving. Out in the Solent there was a small amount of chop, but our scows remained very well behaved to the entrance of the river. Tacking through Mount Lake spread the field a bit but allowed adequate distance between the fleet for a textbook sail through north west passage and home to Keyhaven sailing into a beautiful sunset, a perfect sail. Big thank you to Richard and Steve who provided support boat cover and Jo for leading us all.
