Junior Recycled Regatta a success!
Published 10:40 on 28 Nov 2023
Saturday 25th November a group of our younger members descended on the Club with their homemade model boats. The reason you ask? To race them for the chance to win the coveted Recycled Regatta Trophy, made by local sculptor and artist Michael Turner!
With the sun out and light winds, the morning was beautiful. Members from Lymington RNLI helped keep the boats on track as they made their way across the river. It was a close race at the front, but Alfie Smith beat the competition with his water bottle trimaran.
Bacon butties all round after the RNLI gave a fun talk to our youngsters about their work and safety on water together with the presentation of the Trophy. A fantastic mornings fun was had by all - and well done Alfie!
Thank you to all volunteers who organised and helped out on the day, it is very much appreciated.
