Junior Sailing lives Keyhaven life!
Last Saturday morning, our Junior Sailing group once again took full advantage of the perfect Keyhaven conditions! With the Round-the-Island race providing a spectacular backdrop with their spinnakers flying in the Hurst narrows, the Juniors took to the water in their own fleet of club RS Zests and an RS Feva. Congratulations to all our members who took part in this year's Round the Island Race!
What a fantastic weekend of sailing at one of the UK's most iconic races. Special congratulations goes to former KYC member Simon Moss, sailing Tattarat with Sally Moss, and current members Matt Wright and Cy Grisley , who not only won their IRC class but also claimed the prestigious Gold Roman Bowl as the overall IRC winner. An outstanding achievement and a result to be incredibly proud of.

Get Sailing Group Session - Tuesday 7th July 2026
After many frustrating cancellations and a run of challenging conditions, we were finally rewarded with a beautiful, warm, sunny evening and a south-westerly breeze of 1015 knotsjust about perfect for our Get Sailing Group (GSG). Unsurprisingly, we enjoyed one of our biggest turnouts yet, with 24 boats taking to the water. Flags of Fun for Junior Sailing!
The recent spell of unseasonal weather finally gave way last Saturday to a very welcome return of blue skies and sunshine, right on time for Junior Sailing's regular morning session! With 22 Juniors, spread across 10 dinghies, the group sailed themselves down the main river towards Hurst castle. The KYC Art & Photography Competitions are back for 2026!
We are delighted to be running our popular Art and Photography Competitions again this year, giving members of all ages the opportunity to showcase their creativity. Stivers and the Solent for Junior Sailing!
The recent spell of glorious conditions continued nicely on Saturday morning for the Junior Sailing group to take full advantage! With unbroken blue skies and a light westerly breeze, the group of Zests and a Tera sailed off at a leisurely pace, down Hawkers, into the Little Hawkers and Stivers channels, and finally out into the open Solent again.
