Training
Keyhaven Yacht Club is an RYA Recognised Training Centre, offering powerboating, dinghy sailing and shorebased courses to club members.
Courses are held in the classroom at Keyhaven Yacht Club, Keyhaven, Lymington, SO41 0TR, and on the water in our local operating area.
If none of the dates suit, or are fully booked, do let us know as we may be able to schedule additional dates.
We also offer non-RYA accredited refresher sessions for those with existing qualifications (VHF, Powerboat, Safety Boat), that follow the syllabus and teaching standards of the relevant RYA course.
Cancellation policy
If you have booked and paid for a course and cannot attend, notice must be given at least 28 days prior to the start of the course, when an alternative date may be considered.
Beyond this period, alternatives may be offered at the club's discretion if your space can be filled by another suitable participant.
Keyhaven Yacht Club may cancel or postpone a course at any stage in the event of bad weather, equipment failure/unavailability or otherwise, in which case an alternative date or refund will be offered.

Expect to spend most of the time on your course afloat - these are practical courses, after all! Our RYA powerboat courses are run from Keyhaven, Lymington, and often involve navigating the Lymington river and the river Yar as part of the course.
A copy of the G20 (the RYA Powerboat Scheme Syllabus and Logbook) is available to purchase separately from the office at a cost of £7. This gives you an idea of what to expect, and is useful for keeping track of your hours and miles covered on powerboats, It also gives further insight into other courses in the RYA powerboat scheme.
