Junior Sailing Light Wind Fun - Saturday 18th May 2024
Junior Sailing this week saw 19 junior sailors, all aged 7-11, launch 11 club boats, for what began from the slipway as a rather slow drift to nowhere! To find some breeze they needed to travel, so 3 tow strings later, the fleet of 4 Zests, 3 Teras, and 4 Oppies were ably assisted towards Hurst Castle in search of wind. Youth RIB Club success
Some of our youth members had a great time at the first RIB club led by RYA instructors on Friday evening. They got out into the Solent for some planing and then back in for practicing manoeuvres. SAVE TALL SHIP TENACIOUS
For those who may not have heard about this story - Tall Ship Tenacious has been owned by Jubilee Sailing Trust, and is designed for disabled and non-disabled people to have the opportunity to sail together. Annual visit from Brockenhurst Gateway Club - Tuesday 14th May 2024
A slightly blustery, but dry evening on Wednesday 15th May saw the annual visit to KYC from Brockenhurst Gateway Club. Around 20 adults attended and were taken out on Watchdog by our Commodore, Andy Ash-Vie, assisted by Matt Wright and Heather Pepper. They had a fantastic time and even had the opportunity to helm!
