Lymington River Scow Championships 2023 - 2nd & 3rd September

Keyhaven Yacht Club hosted the Championships this weekend, ran over two days. On Saturday, with light winds and tidal conditions, the Race Officer Cy Grisly even setting the course inshore had difficulty completing two races. On Sunday with increased breeze the Race team were able to run three races which allowed the series to be completed over five races and one discard.
First in the Single Handed Class for the Builders Trophy was the builder himself, John Claridge, second Peter Bainbridge and third, our Commodore, Andy Ash-Vie. The President's Trophy for Masters Single Handed Trophy was John Claridge. In the Double Handed for the Sailmakers Trophy, Sarah Richards and Camilla Wakefield took first place, second Nick & Rory Bubb, and third was Lawrence & Harry Draper. The President's Trophy for the Masters Double Handed was won by Jeremy & Maxine Vines. The Keyhaven Commodores Trophy for the first Newcome was won by Nick & Rory Bubb.
The Chairman of the LRSCA gave a vote of thanks to Keyhaven Yacht Club for a wonderfully run Championship, especially Stuart Rowney in his first year as Scow Class Captain.
Even Sammy the Seal made an appearance!
