Yarmouth Rally: 2nd - 4th October 2026
Published 14:02 on 9 Oct 2026
The Yarmouth Rally has been our final Rally of the season for a few years now and as ever it proved very popular.
We had 15 boats in total with a few arriving on Friday, some staying in Newtown Creek on Friday and then joining us with others making a fantastic group arriving on Saturday.
Various expeditions around the island took place on Saturday with trips to Cowes, Newport and Freshwater by bus, bike and foot. There is talk of doing a steam train ride next year too!
Querencia hosted a drinks on board which spilled over onto the pontoon before heading to RSYC for our dinner. We were once again well catered for at the club, enjoying fabulous views out over the Solent to both Keyhaven and Lymington.
The sun shone all day on Saturday but we awoke on Sunday to thick fog enveloping the harbour and out into the Solent.
By the time Querencia cleared the harbour shortly after 12 noon the fog had lifted giving us a beautiful trip back the Buckler's Hard albeit under motor. Passing the vessel making a recovery attempt on Aliunde, the wreck, not far from the river entrance.
A thoroughly enjoyable last rally of the season. Thank you to everyone who helped make my last Yarmouth Rally as organiser such a special weekend.
I'll be back next year to enjoy the rally but this time just as a Cruiser!
