A Classic Finn, a Dominant Scow and a Very Shiny N12 - Sunday 16th August 2026
Published 15:29 on 18 Aug 2026
Great turnout of 17 boats and some close racing in both open and scow fleets on Sunday in light and challenging sea breeze conditions.
In the open fleet Roddy Steel cemented his return to the Keyhaven race fleet with two wins in his "Classic with Carbon" Finn, holding off the ILCA7s of Ash Dray (by 3 seconds) and Rob Langley in the first race then pipping Rob and Andy Hind in the second.
In the scow fleet Nick Langford dominated both races with two wins ahead of Carolyn and David Howden and Kevin Dry in race 1 and ahead of Kevin (by 2 seconds) and Carolyn and David in race 2. Great to see new scow racers Kate Thornton and Lindsey Froud on the water (thought they had Nick beaten in race 2 after a great start TBH). And finallyprettiest boat of the day (if perhaps the least comfy) was in the committee boats view - Andrew Hurst's very shiny National 12. Nice!
A big thank you to all the support crews and volunteers who make these races possible.
