Day 1 racing at Keyhaven Regatta Day - Sunday 10th August

Keyhaven once again proved its reputation for delivering great sailing when other parts of the Solent were becalmed. After a short postponement ashore, racing got underway with a club pontoon start passage race out to the Solent. As expected, the sea breeze filled in, carrying competitors out of the river to finish in the bay.
Race two followed the classic triangle-and-sausage format, with an inner windward mark for the slower fleet. Race three took the fleet around the triangle course before a final leg back up the river to a pontoon finish.
Smiling faces were everywhere, and the clubhouse and garden enjoyed a lively, sociable après-sail atmosphere.
A big thank you to all the volunteers and staff, both ashore and afloat, whose efforts keep the racing running so smoothly. Photos courtesy of Nick Boxall
