Our Juniors were back out again on Saturday!

Saturday 26th July Junior Sailing Session: The gentle westerly breeze firstly propelled all 10 dinghies with ease down the main river channel to Hurst Castle.
Grouping there, the Juniors then continued sailing out of the river entrance into the Solent and along the eastern shore length of Hurst Spit, to land in the tidally sheltered corner by the lighthouse!
With the Fastnet race passing through the Hurst narrows imminently, it turned out that the Juniors weren't the only ones making their way to the end of the spit this morning!
With a customary refuel of biscuits, our dinghies and support boats then relaunched, and colourfully sailed past all the spectator boats anchored off the spit, and made a course for the Hawkers buoy to complete another Keyhaven 'Around-The-Island'.
After all the sailing off the wind, the Juniors faced a final upwind beat up the Hawkers channel, but with the last of the favourable flood tide underneath them at least, to return to the slipway after a truly memorable morning - a great effort all round!
