Junior Sailing fun

It was not just the sun that was out on the weekend. On Saturday morning, 28 of our youngest river sailors assembled, crewing 15 dinghies, to make the most of it - and they did just that!
The initial gentle easterly breeze was just enough for a leisurely sail down the main river towards Hurst Castle. Beyond the pool the wind began to drop off, but not to be defeated, capsize recovery and cooling off began!
After a good soaking, the promise of biscuits proved very effective in rapidly reuniting all crews and their boats!
The new southerly breeze then arrived, and proved just perfect for all 15 dinghies, and their 4 support boats, to complete the Keyhaven 'Round-The-Island' by continuing their sailing route out of the river entrance into the Solent and returning up the Hawkers channel.
Enormous thanks to all the supporting parents who played a part to make such a memorable session for the Juniors!
